The converted hop barn along River Road is an icon, as is the family’s legendary Jackass Hill vineyard, with a 60-degree slope that makes it the steepest non-terraced hillside vineyard in Sonoma County. The Martinellis have been farming this area for more than 100 years.
One of the most celebrated producers in the Russian River Valley, Martinelli brings decades of impressive scores and a reputation for excellence. Consulting winemaker Erin Green worked alongside Helen Turley in the early ’90’s on some of her projects, including Bryant Family & Martinelli.
The “Baler Bar” tasting for 4 includes a cheese plate and tour.

A true collector’s item; A magnum of Rochioli 2015 Estate Pinot Noir. Rochioli’s wines are so much in demand, that there’s literally a five year waiting list. Finding a magnum is even rarer. “This Estate is a blend of our many different vineyard sites, twenty four percent Little Hill, eighteen percent Sweetwater, eighteen percent West Block, fourteen percent Big Hill, fourteen percent East Block and twelve percent River Block. This full bodied wine possesses the typical Rochioli character and the Classic Russian River Valley charm. Aged in French oak for 15 months, the wine displays a full body and silky texture finish, with a balanced structure. Elegant and beautifully balanced, the aromas of ripe cherry, hints of vanilla and savory herbs, while the palate is juicy and refined with a hint of dusty cherry. The wine has a big rich mouth-feel, silky tannins and a long finish”. http://www.rochioliwinery.com/

Magnum Churchill Cellars 2010 Bella Luna Vineyards Pinot Noir and Hand-Woven Scarf. Already silky smooth, this wine is ready to drink or lay down for a few years. It has bright fruit flavors that are rich in red raspberry and cherry flavors. We said the 2009 was the best ever, but now we feel this one rates just a little higher. Beautiful hand-woven scarf from fabric artist, Abby Bard, combined bright colors with various weaving techniques to create this one-of-a-kind collectible.
Chateau Montelena Vertical 2011, 2012, 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Montelena Estate, Napa Valley
“In 1976 Chateau Montelena helped put California at the forefront of the wine world. At the famed Judgment of Paris tasting, four white Burgundies were tasted against six California Chardonnays. When the scores were tallied, the French Judges were convinced that the top-ranking white wine was one of their own. In fact, it was Chateau Montelena’s 1973 Chardonnay, rated above all other wines. The results proved that Chateau Montelena could produce some of the world’s finest wines, and that California’s wine industry had come of age.”
Donated by Peg Champion and Brad Whitworth
3 Bottles Dehlinger 2015 Pinot Noir Goldridge
“U.C. Davis grad, Tom Dehlinger, launched his namesake brand in 1975. He was one of the pioneers of California Pinot Noir. At the time he bonded his winery, there were a mere three dozen wineries registered in Sonoma County. Starting out with a few hundred cases of Chardonnay, Cabernet and Zinfandel, he grew the brand into a producer of highly sought after, cult-status Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. They also produce small amounts of Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. However, Dehlinger is renowned for Pinots that have proven to be exceptionally age-worthy. Despite maintaining a low profile, Dehlinger is well known and revered among the cognoscenti.” http://www.dehlingerwinery.com/
Dinner for 2 with Wine at Chez Panisse Café, Berkeley. “Alice Waters is still doing it right at this Berkeley high temple of sustainable methods, where the inspirational, seasonal Cal-Med set menus feature superior, locally sourced ingredients prepared to perfection and served up by a classy staff in a beautifully appointed Craftsman-style setting; the lively upstairs cafe is a more affordable delight with a daily à la carte menu, rounding out a truly exceptional destination that’s high on every foodie’s bucket list.” http://www.chezpanisse.com/
Magnum 2015 Scherrer Winery “Old and Mature” Zinfandel, Alexander Valley Our old vine Zinfandel represents the labor of three generations of the Scherrer family – many of the vines that produced this wine were planted in 1912. It was bottled without fining filtration to capture the beauty and personality of the Scherrer Vineyard. Although enjoyable in its youth, it should age and develop gracefully for 5 to 10 years after the vintage.
