This coming Thursdays April 23rd and 30th, and Friday, May 1st, help support the school garden project at Steel Lane Elementary School in Santa Rosa by purchasing plants for your garden. Fundraising keeps the kids learning, growing, and eating fresh vegetables and fruit throughout the school year.
Plant sale dates are: Thursdays April 23rd and 30th, and Friday, May 1st, from 2:30-5pm, in Vicki’s Garden (located on the West side of the school, parking is in the West lot behind the school).
Plants will range from 2″ to 1 gallon pots, including 6 packs of organic vegetable plant starts, priced from $1.50-$8. Organic vegetables, culinary herbs, flowers, and some ornamentals, planted by students and started in the greenhouse, and donations from other nurseries will be on sale.
There will also be a limited quantity of seed packets available, from seeds harvested and processed in the garden by students last fall, for $2 a packet. All proceeds go directly to Steele Lane’s garden program, and are used to purchased supplies and equipment for PreK-6 garden classes and maintenance.
