A partnership between Slow Meat advocates: Slow Food Russian River, the Livestock Conservancy, and 4-H Sonoma County.
Harvest dinner prepared by Bay Area chefs – benefit for the Lifestock Conservancy –, with a live Heritage Breed Turkey auction – benefit for 4-H student ranchers –, and a Silent Auction – benefit for Slow Food Russian River.
The Livestock Conservancy is a nonprofit organization focused on preserving and promoting rare breeds of livestock. This year’s conference focuses on the “age” of changing eating habits, and the rediscovery of flavors forgotten since the consolidation of agriculture in the early 20th Century.
Keynote address from New York Times best-selling author of Tomatoland, Barry Estabrook. Barry’s newest book, Pig Tales: An Omnivore’s Guide to Sustainable Meat was released last May by W.W. Norton & Company, Inc.
