Board Minutes and Financial Statements
According to its Constitution, the Board of Directors of Slow Food Russian River (officially known as the “Leadership Team”) shall “consist of no more than twelve members who shall be elected by the membership at the annual meeting to be held no later than March 15th of each year.” The Team meets monthly rotating through the homes of its members where the previous host takes on the role of meeting moderator. In December they have a marathon session at a retreat localtion to plan the year ahead.
That annual meeting is a real fun family gathering, with free food paid for out of our general funds, and with appetizers, desserts and beverages donated by the attending members. Some good wines and ciders to be had there! You can find photos on our Flickr site.
Lately the annual meeting has opened up to supporters in general, anybody who supports Slow Food’s mission of a food system that is good, clean and fair, for all. It’s a sign of Slow Food morphing into a more open, nimble organization, emphazising the need for partnerships in the events and campaigns we organize.
In a similar move towards more transparency and openness the Leadership Team decided late 2016 to start posting the minutes of its monthly meetings – and the yearly financial rapport – online. If you have questions about these minutes please email the Secretary at this address.
