Help the California Grain Campaign revitalize local grain economies

The California Grain Campaign provides new marketing opportunities for California grain growers and educates our communities about the many benefits associated with including California-grown whole grains in our diet.

Increasing California-grown grains at farmers’ markets will help farmers in their businesses, markets in their diversity, bakers in their craft, and customers in their whole diet. WHEN: Sunday, April 29 from 9am-2pm; half shifts also available either 9-11:30 or 11:30am-2pm

WHERE: Sebastopol Farmers’ Market at downtown park, 6908 Weeks Way (across from Whole Foods)

HOW: Talking to Farmers’ Market patrons about the benefits of CA-grown whole grains and offering samples of baked goods made with locally grown grain.

WHY: Farmers’ Markets can play a key role in increasing the market for locally grown heritage grains by adopting the 20 x’20 rule whereby vendors of grain-based products commit to using 20% CA-grown whole grains by 2020.
